Description
Join Norah Ylang and me for a fun morning (or afternoon, depending upon where you live) to learn the process for making tempeh. You will receive the information you need to have your ingredients ready to go on the day of the class. You will also receive a spore packet in the mail.
Learn all you need to know to handcraft your own tempeh in the comfort of your own home! Although tempeh is traditionally fermented using soybeans, different versions can also be made from a variety of non-soy pulses and cereal grains. Norah will show you a sampling of freshly fermented soy and non-soy tempeh and discuss how you can choose your own tempeh adventure. If you would like to follow along to make tempeh during this class, you will need to fully cook your beans, strain any excess water, and lay them out to dry for about an hour before we begin. (You will receive the instructions via email prior to the class.) We will discuss different options for incubating tempeh at home, from your oven to the beloved Instant Pot. Norah will also provide follow-up support for all workshop participants as tempeh development takes between 24-48 hours to complete.
The class is via Zoom and you will have access to the recording.
