Description
Have you been interested in learning how to ferment your own food? Let’s start with one of the simplest to make ferments: sauerkraut, made with cabbage, a fantastic cruciferous vegetable.
Jill will explain how and why fermentation works to take a vegetable from good for you to great for you, with a boost of natural probiotic qualities. These beneficial bacteria help support your gut health, digestion and improve your immune system function. And a whole lot more.
With this class, you will be sent a package of fermentation supplies. (If you are out of the US, then you will not get this package.) You MUST sign up and pay by July 30th so that you can get the supplies in time. All you need to do is purchase a 1 quart jar and the cabbage plus any other vegetables, and then just show up ready to make sauerkraut on August 10th at 3:30 pm.
After you sign up, you will get a confirmation email. And a bit later you will receive an email with the sauerkraut recipe and suggestions for what else you might want to add to your kraut, other than cabbage. However, believe me just cabbage kraut is amazing. The email will also contain an equipment list which which requires very little for this easy project.
You will end up with a fabulous deeply flavored and good for you condiment, that is full of beneficial bacteria. I will tell you ways to use your kraut that perhaps you hadn’t thought of you. That discussion will be a lot of fun.
