Join me (The Veggie Queen) on the trip of a lifetime as we take a plant-based cruise to the British Isles from September 25 – October 5, 2021 aboard the Oceania Sirena.
Cruising in 2019 with a small plant-based group to the Mediterranean on the Oceania Riviera was a great way to see how Oceania can deliver delicious plant-based fare. I am so excited to be able to offer you the opportunity to come on a plant-based cruise with The Veggie Queen to the British Isles in 2021.
This Oceania Sirena, which can carry 684 passengers and almost as much staff, will be our home base for 10 nights of cruising in the British Isles. We will start in Southampton, nearish to London and make our way to Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Dublin, Waterford, and Dartmouth before returning to the London area.
I am in the early stages of putting together a pre-cruise vegan tour of the city of London to get us warmed up and will have details available as the cruise date gets closer. I am also working with locals on vegan destinations in both Ireland and Scotland. This is sure to be a great time with a like-minded group of folks, although group interaction is not required.
Celebrate the Endless Enchantments of the British Isles
Whether enjoying the sun-dappled highlands of Scotland, cheering the commanding strongholds of England, raising a toast in the jovial ambiance of a traditional Irish pub, or tasting vegan cheese in a small shop, traveling aboard the Oceania Sirena will provide us with many opportunities to enjoy the sites and history of the British Isles when we set sail on September 25, 2021.
Here are some of the choices offered by the itinerary:
- Explore the early links between England and the United States on a visit to Washington Old Hall, the Newcastle home of George Washington’s ancestors.
- Enjoy afternoon tea accompanied by delightful treats while relaxing in the elegant ambiance of The Tea Rooms at Edinburgh Castle.
- Applaud the exquisite craftsmanship of glassmakers at work during an illuminating tour at the House of Waterford Crystal.
- Delight in a thrilling ride aboard an authentic steam train that sets off from Dartmouth and threads the beautiful coast of Devon.
Dining Aboard the Oceania Sirena
While onboard we will have 2 vegan cocktail/mocktail parties served with appetizers. During a day at sea we are working on putting together a cooking demonstration. There will also be opportunities to gather together for a few group dinners. You can have as much fun as you would like.
In addition to experiencing plant-based cuisine and vegan excursions at several ports, you will get to partake in the fine dining aboard the Sirena. Signature specials from Jacques and Red Ginger are featured nightly in The Grand Dining Room. The lunch buffet has a plant-based bowl daily and there is the smoothie bar for breakfast. In addition to the plant-based offerings on the menu, the Executive Chef and Restaurant Manager will work with us to prepare special meals.

The biggest issue we faced on the 2019 cruise wasn’t the food but the fact that many people waited too long to sign up to sail! The Riviera, which was almost twice the size of the Sirena, filled up 10 months prior to sailing! Putting your $750 per person deposit in right away assures you a space .
You may purchase this cruise with or without air travel. Oceania’s round-trip airfare is $1000 from major US Gateways. This can be removed if booking your own air or using miles. We can also quote business class air with an air wholesaler.
